Art in the Kitchen

When displaying artwork in their homes, people might stereotypically hang a painting over the living room couch. But what about the kitchen? Doesn’t the hub of the home—where we nurture and feed ourselves and our families—also merit some fine art?

Create artwork that you would display in your kitchen. How does being in the kitchen make you feel? How do you convey taste, nutrition, emotion, creativity, family, domesticity and other subjects relating to the kitchen? So much possibility exists within the kitchen! Think beyond clichés and literal depictions.

Infuse your kitchen-themed illustration with emotion and heart. Be creative and have fun!
