Marci Senders sees herself as a visual storyteller. Her illustrations stretch the imagination to create charming new worlds with loving monsters and precocious characters. She uses ink swashes and heavy brush strokes to allow her characters to come to life. Her illustrations are simple, playful, smart and conceptual. The stories she tells have a magical quality with a lot of emotion, yet simple enough to be attainable. Through her illustrations, she want to inspire others to create their own magical worlds and kookie characters. She works as Children's Book Art Director by day and lives in Sunnyside, Queens.
