Bio:
š¦Hi, I'm Marissa, a self taught watercolor artist, photographer, and creative who has lived and wandered throughout the Western United States, with my family and is currently preparing to move once again. I have been a Teacher, a Full Time Mom, a n owner of a handmade soap company and now and artist and illustrator at the age of 50.
Drawing from a lifelong blend of creativity and education, with an emphasis on painting and drawing for the past 13 years,Ā my work is infused with a playful, child-like styleāadorned with whimsical details and inviting colors. In traveling, Iām always in search of the tiny details both within us and around us that define "Home."
My creations unfold whimsical stories of places, nature, and the warmth of home. I draw and paint āhomeā, botanicals, birds, and a magical places called Tiny World complete with its own Travel Agency.
I would love to create childrenās books, prints, stationary, fabric, maps and most of all puzzles. All of my current work are personal projects created by hand, or for a challenge or competition.
I write a Substack Newsletter called āI Draw Homeā., where I am creating a community around drawing houses and celebrating the crafts and creativity of home.
I have taken several classes on Domestika, The Good Ship Illustration, and other education platforms.
Inspired by nature, I can often be found outside in the sunshine, chasing clouds, picking wildflowers and watching the birds with my dog Nori, and my turtle Toby.
Stop by on my Website, Substack or my Instagram page and say Hello. I would love to meet you.
