Crystals frozen at their birth
Silent crest the canopies
And land among their limbs at ease
Then catch the opal mass atop
The hills where children slide and stop
They laugh again as each one falls
Aside toboggans and parental calls
Crisp and with no wispy want
Breezes redden cheeks and flaunt
The un-stoppered vial of God's own breath
Effortless through the trees bereft
Of leaves in winter's cool embrace
To kiss the lips of scarv-ed face
In the midst of shovel scrapes
Sounds of joyous, angelic drapes
I think aloud what I would do
If I were young again; renewed
