Bhubaneswar, in Odisha, is home to ancient stone temples representing over 2,000 years of heritage from the 3rd century BC to the 15th century AD. It is one of the only cities with such an ancient continuous architectural and historical heritage. This heritage has earned it the name "Temple City of India." The old city’s holy center is a ceremonial tank called Bindu Sagar. Thousands of medieval stone temples once stood here; around 50 currently remain. Walk through the lanes of the Old Town, eat at one of the oldest kitchen temples, converse with priests, watch lotus gatherers walk through Bindu Sagar lake, sample delicious street food, and feel time slow down and transport you to ancient wonders.
