This was something my Grandma Libby used to make for me all the time as a child. She used to sing and hum while cooking it. I always thought calling it "FAzool" was her bad impression of an Italian accent, as she had married into an Italian family, but I was recently corrected, being informed that Pasta Fazool is actually a southern Italian Dialect for pasta e fagiole.
This was for a MICA assignment about sentimental recipes. So it was important to me to include my grandmother, as she is the one who taught me how to cook.
