My small town of Douglas Massachusetts is home to the beautiful Douglas State Forest, 1500 acres full of wildlife and birds, flowers and plants, woods and waterways and miles of walking trails. This pretty walk—around the beaver pond, past old foundations and stone walls, among the glacial erratic boulders and through the hemlock grove—is one of my favorites.
