Potatoes pancakes (latkes) are a traditional food eaten on Chanukah. The holiday has to do with the miracle that the oil lasted 8 nights instead of one night. As a result, foods are eaten that have a lot of oil, such as latkes and donuts. I drew, the ingredients on the left, the latkes cooking in the center and the final product on the right. The pancakes are often topped with sour cream and/or apple sauce.

Thank you posting my Chanukah illustration. At first the pan looked too dry. Then, I painted the oil. Now I hear it sizzling!

Jennifer this is an amazing illustration! Latkes are not easy to illustrate but you've made them look so tasty with just the right crispy edge. Happy Chanukah!
