I love illustrating botanical things and fruit is no exception. This recipe is my personal variation of one taken from a cook book my aunt made about 25 years ago full of recipes from her husbands family.

I also LOVE me some warmed apple crumble and this one is simple and delicious. Sometimes I use granny smith apples, sometimes I use gala or delicious red. In all cases I find the flavours are best after 24 hours.

This was an exercise prompted by Ohn Mar Win's Illustrated recipe class on Skillshare, but rather than using vectors I did this one in procreate from composition sketches to rough sketch and finished illustration. I got lost in creating this and look forward to doing more of these.

Ohn Mar is such an amazing teacher!! Family recipes are always the best; so full of heart. I think what you've created here is a lovely tribute to your Aunt and the entire family. I bet this smells delicious while baking :-)
