Pineapple Chicken, or 菠萝鸡, is a recipe my Chinese mother invented for my Belgian father. The dish itself embodies the wonderful aromatics of Chinese cuisine, with the use of traditional seasonings such as soy sauce, but it also has a touch of a more unique sweet flavor, often found in less traditional dishes, which is created by the addition of honey.

This dish is what I always ask my mom to make when I come home, and what I always make for myself when I miss home.

It is the true definition of "the taste of home"
