A very vegan illustration of a vintage salad recipe, La Basconnaise, resembles a hearty vegan salad and was served as the main dish in a French anarchist café (Le foyer végétalien) during the early 1920s. The recipe was created by Louis Rimbaud over 20 years before the term 'vegan' was coined by the British duo, Dorothy and Donald Watson.
