This drawing is of one of my most favorite places on earth, the northeastern coast of Maine. I've been to this place many, many times and because it is so special to me, I wear a bracelet every day with it's coordinates engraved on it. I've had the good fortune to see Pilot whales off the coast of Maine, just south of Canada's waters. It was a goosebump moment that I'll remember all of my life. This is the first piece that I created for the Uppercase and They Draw "The Great Outdoors" challenge—it just had to be this place. I'm going to focus my drawings for this challenge on creating kid-lit friendly renditions of meaningful places to me.
