Drawing animals and trees brings me calm when I need it the most. I think that is because they were a big part of my childhood and when I draw them I feel the wonder of that time. I grew up in a rural farming community and we were surrounded by woodlands. In the morning over hot oatmeal we'd see a bear skirt the edge of the woods, and in the evening while quietly sitting in the porch swing we'd watch deer grazing on the edge of the fields. We chased rabbits and foxes out of the garden. And if we were really lucky, we'd see a white owl fly out of the barn. This is another entry for the Uppercase and They Draw "The Great Outdoors" challenge.
