I'm not a very outdoorsy person, so finding inspiration for a challenge called The Great Outdoors was a bit of a challenge. Then I realized that I spend a lot of time looking out at my backyard while I do dishes everyday. I remembered how beautiful my backyard looks in the springtime, with all the forsythia, the azalea bushes, the dogwood tree, and all the little squirrels and bunnies we see all the time. And the cardinals! I always see one flying around, and it makes me think that it’s my mom watching over me. I also think of my sweet black lab, who used to love sitting out there when he was alive. Once, I even saw a cat sitting up in a tree, so I included him too. And then there’s me, reading a book, drinking tea, and wearing a ridiculous floppy hat. That's my kind of outdoorsy adventure!
