One day, as I was walking around the city, I caught a very familiar scent that instantly transported me back to my childhood. You know that feeling when a smell is very familiar, but you can’t quite figure out what it is? I began to look around to understand where this aroma was coming from, and that's when I discovered lilies of the valley. It was like finding an oasis right in the middle of a big, noisy city.
When I came home, I quickly made a sketch. Years later, while working on my Sprint Watercolour series, I painted this artwork based on that sketch.
