When I want to treat myself, I can think of nothing better than a big steaming bowl of perfectly-cooked chewy udon noodles, topped with crispy prawn tempura, brown X-scored mushrooms, oriental greens like bok choy, yummy slices of fish cake (that bright pink swirl!), those always-awesome soy eggs, all steeped in a glorious umami broth. Add a bit of chili spice and…MMMMM, sigh, MMMMM, slurp slurp, sigh…And it always makes me reminisce about all those little noodle-ya eateries in Japan after a full day of sightseeing and wandering about, on holiday...but I digress...
