The Perfect British Pancakes Recipe
Most people think of British food as bland and boring. Most people are wrong. These pancakes are proof that Brits can make good food that tastes just as delicious as it looks.
Ingredients:
- 250 grams of all purpose flour (you can use others but this one is best)
- 2 medium or large eggs
- 600 milliliters of milk (approximately)
- A bit of salt
- Oil or butter
- 2-5 Lemons (depends on how much lemon juice you'd like on your pancakes)
- Sugar
- Fresh fruit
Directions:
1. Mix 250g of flour and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
2. Make a well in the center of the dry mixture and add two eggs. Then mix again!
3. Slowly add 600ml of milk into the bowl while consistently whisking or mixing.
4. Mix until you have a creamy consistency and then let it rest for 30 minutes.
5. Once rested check the consistency and add more milk if it is needed.
6. Pour a very small amount of oil in a pan and whiz it around. You can use butter but I usually find oil to work better.
7. Place the pan onto a hot stovetop and pour a thin layer of batter.
8. Cook on a low or mid heat for a few minutes each side until slightly golden.
9. Fill the pancake with squeezed lemon juice and sugar and then roll it up!
10. Top with fresh fruit of your choice and enjoy!
