Pateshwar is a peaked hill rising above the rest of the range about seven miles south-east of Satara, India. The temple stands in a courtyard, partly if not entirely cut out of the hill side to a depth of ten feet. A beautiful example of a place where architecture meets nature in a seamless manner, like many other Indian temple precincts.
