I created this Songbird Garden illustration for a horticulture book, titled "The Ultimate Wildlife Habitat Garden," written by Stacy Tornio (founder of Be a Good Human), and released by Timber Press / Hachette Book Group. I illustrated 10 garden plots for the book, which appeared as double-page spreads in the book. All were created in traditional media - in watercolor and ink. The illustration highlights some plants which are great for planting if you’d like to attract songbirds to your garden. These plants include: viburnum, black-eyed susan, Joe-pye weed, and fountain grass. It also features a black-capped chickadee, an American robin, and a song sparrow flocking to the garden.
